Shardlow WI first met on 20th February 1945. The members meet in the Village Hall on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.15pm. Our membership is very diverse, with ladies of all ages and backgrounds.

 

We raise funds for ourselves, to augment our share of the subscriptions, mainly by holding events for the members and locals from the surrounding villages to attend. The WI actively supports the local community, Shardlow Primary School, the Village Hall and local and national  charities with various fundraising events throughout the year.

 

During the year we enjoy our  monthly meetings with a variety of interesting speakers and activities.  We actively involved in a number of other areas, including the Derbyshire County Show, trips to the theatre, meals out, cookery, craft, and much more besides!
